Suicide Loss Support Group
Losing someone to suicide is an incredibly challenging experience, and our group aims to provide a safe and supportive space for individuals who share this common journey. Whether you have attended our group sessions before or are considering joining for the first time, we want you to know that you are not alone. Our group sessions will continue every other month, providing an opportunity for connection, understanding, and mutual support. We understand that healing is a continuous process, and we are here to offer a compassionate and non-judgmental environment for sharing your experiences. If you have any questions or would like more information, please don't hesitate to reach out to Erica DeMeester, Spanish Fork's Health & Wellness Coordinator. We value your presence in our community and hope that you can join us as we come together to support one another.
Frequency: Every other month starting January 2024 on the second Tuesday at 6:30 PM (except for May when it will be on May 28th).
Location: Spanish Fork Library Explorer Room
Note: This group is for ages 18+
QPR Community Trainings
QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer — the 3 simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide.
Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help. Each year thousands of Americans, like you, are saying "Yes" to saving the life of a friend, colleague, sibling, or neighbor.
According to the Surgeon General’s National Strategy for Suicide Prevention (2001), a gatekeeper is someone in a position to recognize a crisis and the warning signs that someone may be contemplating suicide.
Gatekeepers can be anyone, but include parents, friends, neighbors, teachers, ministers, doctors, nurses, office supervisors, squad leaders, foremen, police officers, advisors, caseworkers, firefighters, and many others who are strategically positioned to recognize and refer someone at risk of suicide

Frequency: Quarterly throughout the year starting in March. After that we will have a training in June, September, and December. Each training is 1 hour and will start at 6:30 PM.
Location: Spanish Fork Library Hall - Heritage Room
