When Should I Water?

Wind Fan Areas:  During the day when it is not windy. The wind will evaporate sprinkler water 6 times faster than the sun.

Outside Wind Fan:  During the night to avoid evaporation.

Watering Distribution:  The smart sprinkler controllers can automatically schedule watering throughout the city so that demands on the city system are normalized. This reduces infrastructure cost and keeps sprinkler system pressures higher.

The City is unique in that contrary to most systems, about half the City is in a wind fan area coming from Spanish Fork Canyon. The wind created in this area evaporates sprinkler water six times faster than the sun.  Therefore, it is more efficient, and less water is wasted to water this area during the daytime.
