About the Park
On Tuesday, November 5, 2019, the Spanish Fork City Council unanimously approved the purchase of 10.36 acres for a future all-abilities park located at 1225 East Canyon Road.
For several years, the Mayor, City Council, and staff have recognized the need for an all-abilities park in Spanish Fork City. A significant donation by a local family has expedited the park's priority.
"Words cannot express how grateful we are to this wonderful family for their extremely generous contribution to make our dream a reality," said Mayor Steve Leifson. "When completed, this park will improve the quality of life for individuals of all abilities in our community and throughout the region."
Park Design
The All-Abilities Park was designed by In Site Design, with input from several local families with kids with special needs. The goal of this park is to have something for everyone, regardless of their abilities.
Project Updates
February 14, 2020: Spanish Fork City staff and representatives from In Site Design met with local families with children with special needs to reveal the park design and receive any additional feedback. Staff and designers also met with residents who live adjacent to the park to review the details of the overhead power line project, show them the park design, and answer any questions regarding the project.
February 10, 2020: Crews have begun the process of relocating the overhead power and communications lines underground. We anticipate that this portion of the project will be completed by March 31, 2020.
February 3, 2020: The home located on the park property has been demolished, making way for crews to begin prepping the land for construction.
