Harvest Swap & Seed Donations Drop-off

HarvestSwap
Harvest Swap & Seed Donation Drop-off
Saturday, September 14th from 9am to Noon
1st Floor Lobby area

Have extra veggies or fruit from your garden that you don't know what to do with?

Bring them to the library and swap veggies with other gardeners in the area! We're also accepting seed donations or seeds saved from your plants, so bring those by if you have them so our seed library can continue to grow.

Any produce leftover from the event will be donated to Tabitha's Way.

FAQs
1. If I don't have produce to swap, can I still participate?
If you don't have produce to donate for the swap, you'll still be able to use our seed library or drop-off seeds.

2. What can I bring to drop off?
We're accepting any produce that is in good condition (not rotting or over-ripe so it can be transported without mess), like zucchini, peaches, tomatoes, corn, etc. If possible, please wash your items before dropping it off!

3. I've never done a produce swap before. How does it work?
We'll be set up in the 1st floor lobby area so you don't have to carry your items too far. Essentially, you'll be donating the items, then trading with what's available.

The steps are simple:
  • Bring your items to the staff table marked "Produce Drop-off"
  • Our staff members will give you a receipt with the number of items you dropped off and a reusable bag you can use to pick up produce available, or you can opt to get a free book sale voucher instead (for our used book sale wall).
  • We only ask that you take what you'll eat and that the items taken don't exceed what you've donated.
4. Can I drop off produce without swapping?
Yes, you're free to drop off produce for donation without participating in the swap. You'll still stop by the "Produce Drop-off" table so we can have accurate donation numbers to report, but you can head out afterward. Or, if you'd rather, you can pick up a free book sale voucher!

4. Why are you donating the remainder to Tabitha's Way?
Tabitha's Way is our local food pantry. Donating these items helps to get fresh, healthy food to those facing food insecurity or needing food assistance, and reduces food waste that comes from having a high-production garden.
