Spanish Fork, Utah — The Spanish Fork City Council selected Jesse Cardon Wednesday night in a special meeting to fill the vacant council member position created by Brandon Gordon’s resignation. Cardon was selected from a pool of 17 applicants.
“Jesse’s service on our planning commission and with the Chamber of Commerce will allow him to hit the ground running with his unique land use and the business community perspectives,” Mayor Mike Mendenhall said. “This council consists of some of the best people I get to work with, and I’m excited to welcome Jesse to our ranks.”
Cardon, a native of American Fork, moved to Spanish Fork with his family in 2014 and quickly became involved with the Spanish Fork Chamber of Commerce and served as the chair of the Chamber’s executive board. In 2020, Jesse was appointed to the planning commission and was made the chair in 2021. Professionally, Cardon has been in the plasma-pharma industry for 15 years serving as a regional manager for Grifols and currently as a project portfolio manager for Proesis Bio.
“I’m grateful to the City Council for putting the trust in me to replace Brandon Gordon,” Cardon said. “I look forward to serving the residents of Spanish Fork and continuing the vision of the home of pride and progress.”
The vacancy was created after Brandon Gordon was elected to the Utah County Commission. The appointment will be through January 2, 2024, when the seat will be filled in the 2023 general election.
