Spanish Fork Power & Light was named Public Works Division of the Year for 2022 and was recognized during City Council meeting on Jan. 17.
Power & Light was selected for the award for many reasons, including the following:
- For 12 years of no lost time accidents
- Significantly reducing the number of residents with power outages and the length of outage time
- Maintaining power rates at 15% lower than average
- Starting the shared solar program
- Connecting almost 500 homes to net metering (solar)
- Bringing transformer oil testing in house
- Working to execute the new agreement with SESD
- Completing an unprecedented number of projects for new growth
