Spanish Fork, UT — Utah Aviation, in collaboration with Spanish Fork City, is thrilled to announce the groundbreaking ceremony for the highly-anticipated Utah Aviation Business Park. The event is scheduled for Friday, May 17 at 11 a.m. The ceremony will take place at the Spanish Fork Airport, on the west side of Main Street across from the WestRock Plant (2200 N Main Street, Spanish Fork, UT 84660).
The groundbreaking ceremony will feature addresses from the Utah Aviation owners, contractors, and Spanish Fork City Mayor Mike Mendenhall.
In the previous six years, Utah Aviation has invested tens of millions of dollars to build 51 hangars at the Spanish Fork Airport. Completed hangars have ranged in size from 3,600 - 21,000 square feet.
This newest hangar development project showcases a continued partnership between the Spanish Fork Airport and Utah Aviation. Positioning the new development on Spanish Fork’s Main Street creates a large draw for aviation businesses.
Utah Aviation’s project will feature 26 hangars, ranging from $800,000 to $5M, and ranging in size from 4,900 to 54,000 square feet. These hangars offer ample space and flexibility to accommodate various aircraft types and uses.
One of the key features of Utah Aviation’s development is its emphasis on bringing businesses to Spanish Fork. Many of the hangars have already been purchased or leased by private businesses, the most notable being FLT Academy and Cruiser Aircraft USA.
FLT Academy, which will be an anchor tenant, currently operates out of Spanish Fork Airport with a fleet of 15 aircraft. By 2027, FLT Academy plans to have 50 aircraft operating at Spanish Fork Airport, enabling it to train roughly 200 pilots every 14 months. FLT Academy is a partner of SkyWest Airlines and is able to provide students with a direct path towards professional pilot careers. More information can be found on FLT Academy's website at fltacademy.com or by calling (801) 896-4470.
Cruiser Aircraft USA will also be an anchor tenant and will bring aircraft manufacturing to the Spanish Fork Airport. Cruiser Aircraft USA plans to deliver 4 to 6 aircraft per month, and will start as a final assembly operation with a transition to full-scale manufacturing over the next few years. More information can be found at cruiseraircraftusa.com or by contacting sales at (385) 247-4817.
Despite the considerable excitement surrounding the project, hangars are still available across all sizes and price ranges. Interested parties are encouraged to contact Brandon Wilson at (801) 360-9153 or Steve Wilson at (801) 592-9107 for more information and to secure their place in this expanding aviation community.
